Exterior & Seating
We'll start with what's the same. Both the Forester and Outback have spacious seating, cargo room, and amenities. Like all
new Subaru models, they come with Symmetrical AWD, for a firm grip of the road. There's also 8.7 inches of ground clearance on each one, along with up to 30 miles per gallon on the highway, for efficiency. You can also have peace of mind in either, knowing that they've earned the highest safety scores from places like IIHS and the NHTSA.
Width & Cargo
As for the differences? Well, when you put them side by side, you'll see that the Outback is slightly wider than the Forester by about two inches. The Outback also has 108.1 cubic feet of total cargo volume to the Forester's 103.3, but in the rear trunk, and with the seats folded down, the cargo room is nearly identical.
Engine & Performance
The Outback shares a platform with a sedan counterpart, the Legacy. This gives it a smooth, quiet driving d
ynamic, with a premium feel, especially when you pick the many features available to stay connected. The Forester is also dynamic, but in a different way. It shares a platform with the Impreza, which means it quickly responds, and will provide a lot of thrill's for a person who loves the experience of the drive. Not only that, but each model has an engine that is unique to it. The Outback has the 3.5 R, while the Forester has the XT. They both give these standout vehicles added oomph, helping you accomplish many different things.
