This month Downtown Subaru of Oakland participated in the Subaru Loves to Care Event. Towards that purpose, on June 19, Downtown Subaru of Oakland and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Greater Bay Area Chapter teamed up to deliver 80 blankets, 10 craft kits, and dozens of messages of warmth and hope to cancer patients at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. We met Ariana, an adorable five-year-old leukemia survivor, and her father, Roberto as well as her baby doll Charlotte. Ariana's family got the news of her diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) when she was just three years old. Her Dad told us of the families tears upon hearing the news and how brave Ariana was as she faced her treatments. They are very grateful to the Children's Hospital for Ariana's excellent care over 27 months of  treatment. We were elated to hear that Ariana is now in remission.

We believe in supporting our local community and teaming up with The Lymphoma Society showed us we can help best when we all work together to support those in need.
